Calcined dolomite
Calcined dolomite, calcium magnesium oxide, (CaMg(O)2 )
How it’s produced:
By heating the mineral dolomite (CaMg(CO3)2).
Application uses:
In steelmaking, both quicklime and calcined dolomite are used as a flux and slag conditioner and to prevent the steel from oxidising. This process also collects impurities that are damaging to the steel. Calcined dolomite also protects the refractory lining of the steel furnace, oxygen converter and ladle furnace.
Both products can be supplied in different fractions according to customer request.
